Tea and helping to prevent allergies

A study at Kyushu University in Japan has shown that methylated epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) blocked the production of histamine and immunoglobulin, two compounds which can trigger an allergic reaction. The lead researcher Professor Hirofumi Tachibana said if you have allergies, you should consider drinking Green Tea. (J Agric Food Chem; 2002; 50(20); 5729-5734).
